Acne isn’t just for the young. Acne it’s not a sign of poor hygiene. Acne isn’t the result of a poor diet. And acne definitely isn’t the consequence of sexual activity. So, what is acne? It’s a frequent blemish problem that comes from natural daily generation of body hair, protective skin oils and a miserable little microscopic bacteria known as Propionibacterium Acnes.
No cure?
If there’s absolutely no cure then what could really be done about it? First, let us understand the procedure for an acne pimple. The body has hair follicles which force into the skins surface. When these natural oils and hair push into the skins surface that they open the skin pores to invasion by acne bacteria. Skin bacteria (Propionibacterium Acnes) accumulate on the skins surface and is ready to invade the skin at any given chance.
Once the bacteria enters an open skin pore it travels down the pore into the oil sac where it’s shielded from air exposure (oxygen) and begins its dirty deed of pimple creation. Unfortunately there are both natural and manmade activities that help the bacteria to invade us. The organic problems are no longer than a shedding process caused as the hair pushes upwards. These shedding cells can block a pore while trapping bacteria causing your regular “minute pimple”. And there’s also the issue of an over-zealous generation of skin and hair oils that occur during puberty (teenage growth period). And during the menstrual cycle.
Hormonal factor
Both are occasions when enormous hormonal changes occur that can imbalance the natural order of skin cell, skin and hair oil production. This over abundance of oils will push a pore open all the way to the surface leaving an opening for bacteria invasion. You also have the ever popular dirt issue. Some sports and jobs are filthy, sweaty and just down right dirty.
Needless to say, congestion is congestion and exposure to excessive dust and bacteria laden atmosphere and other contacts will automatically create some skin infections (pimples) since they package the skins pores filled with dirt debris and suspended compounds in the air.
Take note
- Problem 1: We’re all very shy of our look. As kids we were led to think that the child with the most pimples is the dirtiest kid on the block. Who knows how this dumb idea came about? But the simple fact is we’ve really been given a line of bull about pimples from a young kid on up. Reality is what you’ve already read in the previous paragraphs. Pimples are a natural and quite unpreventable phenomena that occurs as an ongoing action do to regular body production of facial hair and protective skin oils. Unfortunately because we’ve got this”I’m filthy tag” deeply seated in our heads, we attempt to over-compensate by scrubbing out our brains. We use soaps, cleaners and even acidic facial stripping compounds to make absolutely sure that there isn’t any dirt left on our skin. But the final result of all that scrubbing is that we wash off the natural skin oils which our body feels obligated to supply in a bid to protect the delicate facial skin from the environment. When the body finds out that these significant thin layers of oils have been gone it jumps right in and starts generating an even greater volume of protective oils merely to compensate for the reduction. The simple reality is that the average person just does not get all that dirty during one day. You see, most soap are merely water softeners that break the surface tension of water. This enables the water to combine with skin oils and wash them off. Leaving you squeaky clean and completely minus the protective skin oils which the body needs that you need to have for facial skin protection. Which causes the body to produce excessive amounts of skin oils causing more open pores for bacteria invasion and massive pimple outbreaks. What’s the solution for this problem? Don’t always wash with additives and cleaners. Especially if your skin is oily. To balance your skin oil production you will need to use a few simple warm water rinsing for a few days in a row. The body will eventually get the hint that there’s sufficient protective oils and will stop overproducing. A new alternate to warm water washings: Obtain baby wipes (with aloe).
- Problem 2: Hair sprays and cosmetics. Can you actually believe there’s an acne problem known as “celebration pimples”? Yep. Hair sprays and gels that get on the brow and throat causing clogged pores. So watch out for “party pimples”. Makeup issues are immense. Some cause clogged pores. Some trigger skin reactions. Some may even cause violent physical issues. Read the warnings on all products and take notice if you start seeing more pimples when you use a specific item.
- Problem 3: Remedy reactions. Not all items are appropriate for all people. And acne treatments are no exception. Again, read the warning labels and take notice if you show any of the symptoms described on the label. Never combine two products together. Chemical reactions can be extremely dangerous. If in doubt always ask your Doctor or Pharmacist. And bear in mind that the acne bacteria is able to resistant against nearly every kind of antibiotic that means it will become a stronger and more powerful strain of treatment resistant bacteria every time it immunes against different medications. This is the reason you find it more challenging to overcome your acne following every different treatment. I’ve given you the pimple producing facts. Now for the great news! Despite the fact that there are no known cures for acne. First you need to bear in mind that every clarified pimple problem begins with bacterial invasion of a pore. Which then causes our body defense mechanisms (dead cells) to form to a gigantic army that produces a swollen and frequently painful bulge since the white cells die in battle developing a pus of dead cells. So there are two points to work on. One is to prevent the bacterial invasion. The other would be to destroy the bacteria as fast as possible (ideally before the body sends its army of white cells). You can eliminate a whole lot of bacteria presence simply by keeping your hands away from your face as much as possible. Plus it’s always a good idea to wash your hands frequently as they’re always connected with doorknobs, handles, pens and tens of thousands of different bacteria laden items. Also consider things that your face comes in contact with. Bed pillows – shirts/blouses (under tops ) – face fabrics – towels – etc.. Make sure these things are clean and rinse off your face whenever you know you’ve been in contact with possible germs such as dogs, cats and other furry friends that we simply can not help hugging. Be careful what you use on the facial skin. Many products cause dehydration that will really increase production of Sebum (skin oils) that push pores exposed to more bacteria invasion. And avoid switching back and forth with a variety of remedies as you’re only strengthening the germs as it immunes against every kind of treatment.
